2026 ISWA World Congress
The 2026 ISWA World Congress is an international conference bringing together professionals, policymakers, researchers and industry leaders to advance sustainable waste and resource management. Under the theme “2 Billion Tonnes Every Year and Rising – Waste or Resources?”, the congress explores how waste can be transformed into valuable resources while protecting human health, the environment and economies.
The programme covers five key areas: human rights, political commitment, waste planning, the economics of waste and resource management, and the circular economy. Activities include keynote presentations, panel discussions, technical presentations, workshops, networking opportunities and an exhibition. Optional technical site visits on 12 November showcase waste and resource management infrastructure in and around London.
The congress is hosted and organised by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) in collaboration with the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA).
