7th World Conference on Marine Biodiversity

The 7th World Conference on Marine Biodiversity (WCMB 2026) brings together scientists, policymakers, conservation practitioners and other stakeholders to advance the understanding, conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity. Under the theme “The marine biodiversity insights we need, for the ocean we want,” the international conference explores marine biodiversity research, ocean monitoring, digital technologies, marine taxonomy and science-based policymaking. Taking place during the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, the conference will assess progress towards global ocean goals and identify priorities for protecting and sustainably managing marine ecosystems through 2030.
